  • Lightweight composite materials play a major role in the aerospace industry. In this context, Al-Ce alloys represent an alternative for its low density, high hardness, and thermal stability at high temperatures. In this research, we study the properties of Al-Ce alloys with hypoeutectic and hypereutectic compositions. Characterization includes: microstructure, x-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, and mechanical properties. The material is prepared via two different manufacturing methods: gravity casting and liquid phase sintering.
